Offer ChadhavaHarsiddhi Mata Mandir is located in the religious city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, India. Situated near the Ramghat of the Kshipra River on the Bairav Parvat, this temple is one of the Shakti Peeths. Among the 52 Shakti Peeths dedicated to Goddess Sati, Harsiddhi Mata Mandir is the 13th. Performing the worship of Harsiddhi Maa grants various divine accomplishments. That is why she is also known as 'Mangal-Chandiki.' It is said that King Vikramaditya, renowned for his intelligence, valour, and generosity, used to worship her regularly and obtained divine blessings. Hence, she was named Harsiddhi, meaning the Goddess of all achievements. The history of Vikramaditya dates back around 2,000 years, and thus the temple is considered approximately 2,000 years old.
According to mythological stories, King Vikramaditya used to offer his head to please the Goddess every 12 years, and each time his head miraculously reattached to his body. However, when he offered his head for the 12th time, it did not reattach, signifying the fulfilment of his rule. The deity, whom Vikramaditya worshipped, is considered to be Devi Vaishnavi, and her puja and archana are performed by the temple priests.
The Harsiddhi Mandir has four entrance doors inside the quadrangular courtyard. The main entrance faces the east. Beautiful domed structures are built around the doorways. Near these domed structures, on the southeast side, there is a stepwell with a pillar inside. This place has a sacred Sri Yantra. Behind this place is a beautiful idol of Goddess Annapurna.
Devotees offer laddoos made of Desi ghee, to the Goddess as Prasad. They also present elaichi and barfi to express their devotion and seek her blessings.
The nearest airport to Harsiddhi Mata Mandir is Indore Airport (IDR), which is about 59 kilometres away. From Indore Airport, buses and autos are readily available to reach the Ujjain Mata Temple.
